An author platform for the co-founder of AOL, designed and built as a white-label partner to a creative agency, around the launch of The Rise of the Rest.
01 / The challenge
A book launch site serves two audiences at once: readers ready to buy, and press looking for a credible source. And it has to outlive the launch: the next book, the next interview.
The agency owned the relationship and the campaign. They needed a senior digital partner to design and build the site under their name.
02 / The thinking
Readers arrive from interviews and reviews already interested. The choice of retailer belongs on the first screen, on every device.
Each title has its own cover and colour. The site needed one system that could wear several identities without feeling like several sites.
Interviews and appearances keep coming. The archive had to grow indefinitely without anyone redesigning a page.
03 / The response
A clear editorial rhythm: the latest book and where to buy it, the story behind each title, endorsements, the author, the full bibliography, the media archive, and a way to stay in touch.

04 / The build
Their name on the site. Our craft in every detail.
Designed and developed end to end on behalf of the partner agency, who kept the client relationship.
A component system where each book carries its own colour and cover while sharing the same layouts.
Direct paths to Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Bookshop, IndieBound and Books-A-Million.
Embedded book videos and endorsement carousels that sit inside the editorial flow.
A paginated, editable archive of interviews and appearances, built to grow without redesign.
05 / The result
One home for the books, the ideas and the media around them, ready for the next title without starting over. For the agency, a partner they could put their name behind.
Measured impact
